LEEDS YOUTH WORK PARTNERSHIP


We run two sessions per week funded by Leeds City Council (Area Grant Funded)
Both the Wednesday and Friday sessions are delivered as open access generic youth clubs for young people between 11 & 18. Throughout the year both groups will participate in programmes designed to encompass those areas of Children Leeds key priorities as laid out below:
Support children to be ready for learning, encourage activity and healthy eating, promote sexual health, improve behaviour, attendance and achievement, provide play, leisure, culture and sporting opportunities, reduce youth crime and anti-social behaviour, increase participation, voice and influence. In addition the project will refer young people from both of these groups into the Engage ( Neet- Not in employment education or training) provision offered by the project. This will offer services on a more individual basis, examining issues around NEET and school attendance

Policies and Procedures

The project has adopted and works within the LCC policies and procedures incorporated within all activates/ services as described .All policies and procedures are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
All policies and procedures are available in written and electronic format. They are displayed in the organisations Open access point. In addition they are available on request for members of the community to take away and consider.

Leadership and Management

The project has funded two members of staff to degree level and has attended all training offered by Children's Services and other agencies. In addition, the project is utilising the free services of a youth work consultancy for all training.


Safeguarding

Armley Juniors Project 4 Young people, is proud to be funded to deliver services on behalf of Leeds City Council, and as such complies with the requirement that all Providers delivering services to children and young people on behalf of Leeds City Council are Required to safeguard and promote children and young people's welfare, as detailed in Section 11 of the Children Act 2004.
Armley Juniors Project 4 Young People is compliant with all aspects of the Leeds Safeguarding Board procedures, "West Yorkshire Consortium Procedures Manual" at:- http//www.procedures.leedslscb.org.uk. Armley Juniors Project 4 Young People ensures that all staff and volunteers, who work with children and young people are checked via an enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check, and will be are registered with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) as and when required.
